Stavlinebygg Class

Stavelinebygg is one of more than 20 distinct timber frame styles in Norway (grindbygg is another). In May 2017, Trond Oalann came from Hordaland Norway to teach this course with me. I learned as much as the students in this course that started with hewing all our timbers from red pine and balsam fir logs with Norwegian hewing axes. All joinery was cut with axes, hand saws and chisels.
